Born in the town of Nagpur to a Sindhi family, Bollywood producer-director Rajkumar Hirani is known for his films over the years. Throughout his career in films, Hirani has won many accolades and awards for his directorial’s and is known to be one of the best filmmakers with great successful films. Involved in theatre since his college days, through his films, Rajkummar Hirani has proved he’s one of the best. An editor by profession, earlier, Hirani tried his hard-luck at editing for years and appeared in the Fevicol and Kinectic Luna advertisements.
The filmmaker marked his Bollywood directorial debut with the 2003 film Munnabhai M.B.B.S, a comedy-drama based film starring Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan in pivotal roles. After the success of Munnabhai M.B.B.S, Rajkumar Hirani turned to be one of the best directors in Bollywood, moving ahead with many other successful hits. The filmmaker has received many national awards for his films as well, for which, time and again, his films have been regarded by the media and masses as the most path-breaking films in the history of Hindi cinema. As Hirani was born on November 20, 1962, the filmmaker celebrates his 57th birthday today. 2003 film Munnabhai M.B.B.S – The film was Rajkumar Hirani’s director debut into Bollywood and was acclaimed by the audiences as well. The comedy based drama film starred Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, and Vidya Balan. Munnabhai MBBS was a funny take to create awareness on the righteous principles of Mahatma Gandhi.
2006 film Lage Raho Munnabhai – The sequel to the Rajkumar Hirani film Munnabhai M.B.B.S, the film starred the same artists in leads like the first part. The film was well-received by the public and shared a social message.
2009 film 3 Idiots – The most path-breaking film of Hirani, 3 Idiots bring shivers to any engineering college student or students throughout the country. Based on the face-paced competition in real life and education, the film 3 Idiots was fun and entertaining and included a social message.
2014 film PK – Starring Aamir Khan in lead roles, the film PK was about a man, an alien, from a different dimension alarming the people of Earth about the malpractices on the name of religion and God. The film also starred Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput.
2018 film Sanju – The recently released Rajkumar Hirani directorial Sanju starred Ranbir Kapoor in pivotal roles. The film is based on the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and was heart-touching. The film won many awards for the plot, as well as the acting skills of Kapoor in it.
